5.     Health Hazardous Information

Effects of Overexposure/Emergency and First Aid Procedures

Eyes - Contact with eyes is painful and irritating and will cause chemical burns.  Flush eyes immediately with plenty of water.

Skin - Prolonged or repeated contact with skin causes irritation.  Wash off skin with water.  Remove contaminated clothing and clean before reuse.

Inhalation - Mist caused by manufacturing operations irritates nasal passages.  Alcohol portion, which can be inhaled or absorbed, must be controlled below TLV.  Prolonged inhalation of vapors causes nausea, loss of motor skills, and disorientation.  If vapors or mist cause irritation or distress, go to fresh air.  Give oxygen or apply artificial respiration, if needed.

Ingestion - If swallowed, consult a physician immediately.

Chronic Effects and Medical Conditions Aggravated by Overexposure - have not been established for this product.  Unnecessary exposure to this product or any chemical should be avoided.

Spill Response Procedures: Contain all spills and leaks to prevent discharge into the environment.  Ventilate area.

Small Spills - Soak up with absorbant, shovel into waste container, flush area with water.

Large Spills - Recover liquid for reprocessing or disposal.

Wastes for Disposal: Recover material or dispose (incineration is preferred) in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.  Material collected with absorbant may be disposed in a permitted landfill in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations.  Empty container may retain vapor or product residue.  Observe all labeled safeguards until container is cleaned, reconditioned, or destroyed.

 

8.     Special Handling Information

Ventilation and Engineering Controls: Use ventilation adequate to keep hazardous ingredients below their TLV (See Section II).

Respiratory Protection: If vapors are present, use NIOSH or MSHA approved respirator for organic vapors, air-line respirator, or a self-contained breathing apparatus (not required for salon use).

Eye Protection: Wear full-face shield or safety goggles when handling (not required for salon use).

Gloves:  Use impervious gloves (not required for salon use).

Other Clothing or Equipment: Wear protective clothing to prevent repeated or prolonged contact.  Eye wash station and safety shower should be near work area (not required for salon use).

Other Handling and Storage Requirements: Avoid open fire or flame.  Spilled material is slippery.  Wash thoroughly after handling.  If ingested, call a physician.
